Multisystem Communications is an award winning Data Communications company. Our staff are always providing an excellent level of workmanship in everything they do and this has been reflected in our successes at the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) awards.

In 2008 Multisystem Communications was the state winner of the Commercial Large Project award for our voice and data work at the Fairbairn Buildings F1/F2/F3/F4.

This Project was one of the most exciting & challenging projects Multisystem Communications had ever undertaken, not only was the sheer volume of works a mammoth task to project manage, but also the continuing challenges faced in the Design and Manufacture of equipment to meet Defence standards and accreditation assurances. Whilst maintaining the very tight program for construction.

Multisystem communications never underestimated the enormity of this project and initiated a strong project management structure to address all aspects of the project to bring it in on time and within budget.

In 2010 Multisystem Communications was the state winner of the Commercial Large Project award for our voice and data work in the Sirius Building for the Department of Health and Ageing (DOHA).

The project and building had to achieve an ABGR 4.5 star and Green 5 star As-Built rating. The requirements to achieve a Green 5 Star As- built rating had implications for the Communications contractor in that the communications contractor also had to meet all green Star obligations imposed upon the project. This included reducing the PVC content of our works by 60% which was achieved by implementing a Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cable solution.

The work included the detailed design, Manufacture, supply, installation, testing and maintenance of the communications and associated services including:

  • Building Distributor
  • Floor Distributor
  • Communications cabinet installation
  • Backbone Telephone Cabling to each Floor Distributor
  • Horizontal Distribution of Cabling
  • MATV Head End
  • MATV Back bone cabling to riser
  • AV Cabling links to all SES offices
  • Location of all slab penetrations
  • Fire rating for communications services
  • Testing

In 2010 Multisystem Communications was fortunate enough to not only win the ACT State Award for Voice/Data Small Project but we were the NATIONAL Winner in the same category for our works in POD 9 at CDC Hume.

In late June 2009 a sensitive government agency commissioned a “POD” to be constructed within the Canberra Data Centre facility, and this POD needed to be housed in a completely separate security facility within the data centre.

It was discovered that the amount of passive cabinet-to-cabinet structured backbone cabling necessary for the client would greatly effect the cooling and power consumption of the POD in a negative manner. Multi system Communications designed a more efficient approach in removing this cabling and installing it outside of the POD structure. This allowed the client to better use the POD for their active equipment requirements, providing additional “expensive” rack space and increased the overall security measurements of the POD.

This project was delivered in a staggeringly short 3 week window with the help of one of our cable vendors Panduit. The overall speed, efficiency and design of the project while not compromising the quality of the finished product was recognised with the National NECA Excellency Award.

In 2012 Multisystem Communications was the proud recipient of the State Finalist Award for our work at 29/31 Brindabella Circuit.

The project involved a sophisticated design of both Copper Networks and 2 x separate fibre optic networks to each desktop in the 115,000 Square Foot, 5-storey Office Building. As the client was a section of defence there were multiple sensitive networks required. The Project involved a communications design that not only delivered the network requirements, but also adhered to the strict Defence ICT standards. Multi system Communications, with their team of trained fibre optic fusion splicers, were able to deliver this project both on time and on budget.
